01 — The Rig

Why the rig matters

Clean water in Pokot sits deep underground. Reaching it takes a drilling rig, a skilled crew and days of work. Every well starts there.

169 wells drilled, and counting

Over fourteen years, the Hope Water Project has drilled 169 deep-water wells across Pokot, on the way to 1,000. Each one means clean water close to home.

Every well starts with the rig

Fuel, pipe, parts and a trained crew keep the rig moving from village to village. Your gift keeps it drilling.

Wells the community owns

When a well is finished, a local women-led water committee takes ownership and cares for it, so the water keeps flowing after the rig moves on.
